June 2020: Is a Destination Wedding Right for YOU? By Michaela Moore VTA CTA LS
Congratulations! You are getting MARRIED!! If you are like me, you have been dreaming about your special day for.ever. So when you find your find your perfect match you will begin to be flooded with all.the.options.
Traditional Wedding? Big Wedding? Small Wedding? Elopement?
Or, maybe you want to take the show on the road with a DESTINATION WEDDING…
But, oh the questions and the logistics!! As a professionally verified travel advisor with over 24 years of experience and charter member of the Destination Wedding and Honeymoon Specialist Association {DWHSA}, I am here to handle ALL the details.
- Where to go?
- How do I help my guests get there?
- Who pays for what?
- How does this work legally?
- How do I earn perks?
As a destination wedding bride myself (Jamaica 2007) I knew I wanted to go away before I even found my groom! Once we were engaged my fiancé also thought this was going to be a super fun option. Even though WE were super excited about this for ourselves, there are a couple of things that you will need to keep in mind.
- Not everyone is going to be excited about going away for your wedding
- Not everyone is going to be able to attend your wedding {Cost, Time Away, Etc.}
- Not everyone will understand your need to have a destination wedding
Once you are comfortable with these potential hurdles let the fun begin!
I am here to help you select the right destination and the right property so you can have the experience that you have dreamed about.
Michaela at Creative Vacations is here to take care of the details:
- Confirming the Wedding Date & Time and getting you in touch with the wedding planner
- Confirming the Accommodation Room Block
- Assisting your guests with getting their travel arrangements booked.
- Keeping you in the loop with who has reached out, who has booked, who we need to prod along.
- I am also available to travel with you and provide complete on-site coordination. Additional fees apply for these services.
I am your advocate to assist from our first consultation until you are home and MARRIED!
It would be my pleasure to assist you with one of the most important trips that you will ever take. I take care of the details; you get all the fun and an experience you will remember for a lifetime!
Congratulations! I look forward to creating the most amazing personalized experience for YOU!
Side Note: Not looking for a Destination Wedding but need assistance with the most amazing honeymoon ever…I can help with that too.

March 2020: What’s in Michaela’s Carry-On Bag? By Michaela Moore VTA CTA LS {WhereIsKala}
Have you ever been on a flight and forgot to pack something in your carry-on before heading to the airport? Hate when that happens! For me, the two things I miss most if I forget them are my Chapstick Medicated and my water bottle!
For my water bottle, we all know the 3oz rule is still in place but, I get around that by packing my empty water bottle in my carry-on. At my departure airport, after clearing TSA/PreCheck there is a water fountain nearby with nice cool water, many airports have filling stations too. The best part is having a water bottle with me throughout my trip, so I am not always stuck with the tiny little glasses that are usually found in hotels and resorts. So helpful!
So, what’s Michaela’s bag?
Always the Girl Scout and prepared for anything, my carry-on is usually the size of a small country. BUT it does still fit under the seat in front of me!
* Empty Water Bottle
* My Chapstick Medicated
* Passport/Government Issued ID
* Travel Documents
* Phone
* iPad Pro and/or Laptop {work work work}
* My Tech Kit: Headphones, Charging Cords, Charging Plug
* Backup Battery Pack
* Wallet {depending on destination, scaled back wallet}
* Toiletry Kit: Hand Sanitizer, Lotion, Face Refresher, Cotton Pads, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Ibuprofen, Needed Meds. {All 3oz or smaller!!}
* Book/Trashy Mag {if they are not already downloaded on a device}
* Travel Journal & Fun Pens
* Snacky Stuff {Almonds, Trail Mix, Granola Bars and Peanut M&M’s are some my favs}
* Neck Pillow
* Scarf/Blanket
* Sunglasses
* Disinfectant Wipes
* Cute Face Mask

Happy Traveling!
